Ember Reign, Zarrah’s firstborn and our undeniable heart and soul, made her grand entrance on April 23, 2021. Her arrival was nothing short of miraculous. Born via emergency C-section and the sole survivor of her litter, Ember was a fighter from day one. She became the love of our lives overnight, with a bottle in one hand and her mamma Zarrah by her side. It’s safe to say, she got the best of both worlds and plenty of cuddles in between.

Ember grew up with a calmness and a balanced disposition that I’ve rarely seen. She’s the ideal role model for our pack, with an innate ability to bring calm to even the most reactive pups. Ember is often our go-to trainer for the younger generation, her calm demeanor soothing the energy of those around her.

Her story took a heartbreaking turn in 2022 when she became the target of a neighbor’s cruelty, surviving a deliberate Tylenol poisoning that nearly took her life. Against the odds, Ember fought her way back from the brink, battling multi-organ failure and dangerously low oxygen levels. Thanks to the incredible team at Michigan State University and more prayers than I can count, after eight days in the ICU, we finally brought our girl home. 

Since then, Ember has not only survived but thrived, blessing us with two exceptional litters of her own. This spring of 2025, she’ll have her final litter, another chapter in her legacy. Afterward, she’ll enjoy her retirement alongside her momma Zarrah, soaking up the love and comfort she so richly deserves. Ember is our miracle girl and forever the heartbeat of Campbell’s Family Dobermans.
